Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal declared Tuesday, Oct. 3, the second annual Tennis Day in Georgia, and Brenau University was part of the celebration.

The statewide observance gave programs an opportunity to share tennis with communities across the state. The Northeast Georgia Tennis Association held its Tennis Apprentice Program at Brenau, where it teaches tennis to both children and adults.

“Brenau tennis is just happy to be involved in a small way,” said Brenau Head Tennis Coach Andre Ferreira. “Tennis is truly a sport of a lifetime. I invite anyone in the community, from all ages and abilities, to join us on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6-7 p.m. We have participants ranging from 5 to 85. It doesn’t get much more diverse than that.”
