Stefanie Diaz Sheehan, Brenau University alumna and founder of the organization Mastermind Your Launch, advised Brenau women to believe in themselves and support each other’s business endeavors at the Women’s College Convocation known as Grrrl PowHER Hour Thursday, Oct. 26, in Pearce Auditorium.

Sheehan graduated from the Women’s College in 2005 with a business degree and completed her master’s in business administration in 2007. She founded the company last year, which helps entrepreneurs execute a successful business launch.

“What’s unique about Mastermind Your Launch is the powerful community of like-minded entrepreneurs and influencers that Stefanie makes available to each of her clients,” said Women’s College Dean Debra Dobkins.

Sheehan is also founder and host of the Mastermind Your Launch podcast, for which she has interviewed more than 60 entrepreneurs, discussing the launches of their businesses. The podcast helped catapult Sheehan and the company to success.

Sheehan said she founded the company with the help of three friends, who were young mothers and fellow Brenau alumni.

“I called upon my Brenau women to mastermind with me,” she said. “I shared with them this silly idea of starting a podcast. I said, ‘Y’all are going to think I’m crazy, but I kind of think I can do this and it could be something really special.’”

Sheehan had three notes she wanted the women in the audience to take from the event: to remember they can do anything they set their minds to; to know they will shock themselves when they fully apply themselves and to always stay connected to and mastermind with fellow Brenau women.

Grrrl PowHER Hour also included performances from several student performing arts groups, which Sheehan said reminded her of the days she spent as a student at Brenau.

“It’s been 11 years since I was sitting in your seat,” Sheehan said to the students seated in Pearce Auditorium. “And [this] just took me back to how empowering this environment is for young women and why it shaped me and my journey so much.”
