On a warm, muggy August afternoon a bucket of ice water dumped over your head might not be the worst thing in the world. Especially when it’s to raise awareness for a good cause.

The Brenau University Competitive Cheer Team was “called out” to do the amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or ALS, ice bucket challenge by Chestatee 8th grade cheerleader Kaylee Grace Lucas who is a great supporter of the team and hopes to be a Brenau cheerleader some day.

President Ed Schrader also showed up for the dousing and along with Krista Britt, the cheer team head coach, called out all the university’s athletic teams, the admissions team, the provost and all the academic deans.

The challenge is raising funds for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease.  Visit the link below to read more about the ALS challenge.
