This live webinar, presented by Jessica Hallam Anderson, MS, LPC, CPCS, RPT-S, will focus on treatment planning and writing from start to finish. It will include when and how to start the process of treatment planning, what to consider when developing a treatment plan, how to adequately write a treatment plan, and what needs to be done to follow up on treatment plans. The purpose and value of treatment plans for both clients and professionals will be reviewed. In addition, sample treatment plans and goals will be provided to attendees.

Webinar Schedule

Time Activity Description
8:30-9 a.m. Login Login at least 15 minutes prior to webinar start time.
9-10:30 a.m. Training (1.5 hours) Intake assessment related to treatment planning, including practice.
10:30-10:45 a.m. Break
10:45 a.m.-12 p.m. Training (1.25 hours) What is a treatment plan? Benefits of them and how to start writing one, including FIDO.
12-1:30 p.m. Lunch
1:30-2:45 p.m. Training (1.25 hours) Creating complete goals with objectives and interventions that are SMART. Review goals of common diagnoses.
2:45-3 p.m. Break
3-4 p.m. Training (1 hour) Practice writing goals and what happens after goals are written regarding follow up, updates, etc.

Webinar objectives

Participants will be able to:

  1. Describe what clinical documentation is needed (diagnostic intake assessment, treatment plan, progress notes) and how they each guide effective treatment
  2. Understand the purpose and benefits to the clinician and client of appropriate clinical documentation
  3. Learn how to complete effective clinical documentation, including leaving with a treatment plan template to use and intervention ideas and sample progress notes

5 CORE contact hours of continuing education have been approved by the Licensed Professional Counselors Association of Georgia (LPCA CE Approval # 2020-09-09-149LW).

Jessica Hallam Anderson, MS, LPC, CPCS, RPT-SJessica Hallam Anderson, MS, LPC, CPCS, RPT-S has been working in the social services field for 20 years and has been a therapist for 12 years. She currently is the Owner and Clinical Director of a medium sized group practice. Jessica has been writing treatment plans for 20 years in a variety of professional environments and has participated in multiple documentation audits in the public and private sector. Jessica continually finds that treatment planning is a mystery to many professionals, both new and seasoned, which is why she began facilitating workshops on the topic of treatment planning. Jessica also provides workshops on other areas of documentation and related areas as well as provides clinical supervision to provisionally licensed therapist and business consultation to licensed professionals seeking to develop or grow private practices
