Amanda Buono received her master’s and post-professional doctorate in Occupational Therapy from Brenau University in Gainesville, Georgia. She has over 20 years experience in clinical practice in diverse settings and is board-certified in pediatrics from the American Occupational Therapy Association. She currently works as an assistant professor at Brenau University’s School of Occupational Therapy where she teaches practice-based courses on pediatrics, adolescents, adults and mental health.

Amanda’s current research interests include the occupation of sleep and the use of clinical aromatherapy in occupational therapy practice. She has achieved clinical certification in aromatherapy practice and conducted research on the use of clinical aromatherapy to support sleep in night shift workers. She has developed several modules on the role of OT in supporting sleep in children and adults, and the complex relationship of sleep and mental health. She has presented on the use of clinical aromatherapy in OT practice and most recently, the topic of sleep assessment and intervention in acute care at the Georgia Occupational Therapy Association.
