Auditioning for Theatre

Scholarships are awarded to students based on talent, commitment and academic performance.  GTA has an annual calendar of scholarship audition/portfolio events that enable prospective students to be our guests for a production and participate in other campus Open House activities.  Students auditioning for scholarships should be in the process of applying to Brenau University and must be declared theatre majors.

Students auditioning for admission in the BFA Musical Theatre program need to prepare 2 songs, about 30 seconds a piece.  One “legit” vocal selection and one belt and/or character selection.  Sheet music must accompany your selections.  Also perform 2 contrasting monologues, 60 seconds each.

For the BFA Acting program: perform 2 contrasting monologues, 60 seconds each.  Singing is optional; if so, perform a song from a musical, about 30 seconds long.  Bring your sheet music.

For the BA Theatre program: perform 2 contrasting monologues, 60 seconds each, with optional song (see above).

Candidates for these degrees should come dressed to learn a dance combination. Headshots and resumes are required of all.

B.F.A. candidates for the Design and Technology degree should bring in a resume and portfolio that demonstrates some preparation in technical and design areas.
