Auditioning for Theatre

Scholarships are awarded to students based on talent, commitment and academic performance.  GTA faculty evaluate prospective students each semester at an audition/portfolio event, as well as at the Georgia Theatre Conference (October 18-20, 2018), the Georgia Thespian Conference (February 7-9, 2019) and the Southeastern Theatre Conference (February 27-March 3, 2019).  Students auditioning for scholarships should be in the process of applying to Brenau University and must be declared theatre majors.

Auditions for Performance Majors

The Gainesville Theatre Alliance is proud to announce that we are partnering with GetAcceptd.com to manage our student information and audition process. GetAcceptd is a site devoted to connecting students in the arts to schools and training programs throughout the county.
Through the website you will be able to fill out your GTA audition form, upload your headshot and resume as well as upload any screening materials you may have.  GetAcceptd also gives you links to the GTA website, Instagram and Facebook page.
If you are interested in auditioning for GTA this spring, please connect to our GetAcceptd page and fill out the online forms.  You will be able to submit a video screening audition or, if you are design/tech-focused, a sample of your portfolio.  Once we receive your application and screening materials, we will contact you about a callback audition.  Students may also receive a callback audition through the college/ university auditions at the Georgia Thespian Conference or The Southeastern Theatre Conference.

For the BFA Musical Theatre program: BFA musical theatre majors need to prepare two songs (16 bars each) – one belt and one legit for their call back audition.  For the pre-screening audition, they only need one song and one monologue.
