Admission and Auditions

Admission into GTA is highly competitive. All Theatre BFA programs (Acting, Musical Theatre, Design & Technology) accept 12 students per academic year, while the Theatre BA program is capped at 20 students per year. Admission to all programs is by audition or interview only. Note that you must also be accepted into the institution (either BU or UNG depending on the program) before final acceptance into your program of choice. Scholarships in all programs are awarded to students based on talent, commitment, and academic performance.

All students will apply through the GTA application portal and audition or interview in person at one of the four audition events held throughout the academic year. In special circumstances, students may be admitted via a zoom audition/interview and/or at selected theatre conferences and auditions such as CAPS, SETC, or GTC.

QUESTIONS

Questions about the interview or audition process may be directed to the Program Directors:

We know you may have many questions about the logistics and benefits of our unique collaboration between two different schools, and we are happy to meet with you to discuss and provide insight. The best way to gain an understanding of the program is to attend a GTA scholarship audition event, either in-person or virtually, where you will see our work, have the chance to meet current students, and discuss your academic and career goals with faculty and staff.
