Residential Planning
Interior Design

Available in North Atlanta and Gainesville
The residential planning degree is for students who plan to practice residential interior design.  This program focuses on issues and topics specific to residential practice. Business, marketing, and management courses are included in the curriculum for those designers who wish to open their own business.

Students who complete this degree will:

  • Become adept at the art of home decoration and all residential decorative arts.
  • Be prepared to work as a residential designer, kitchen and bath designer, interior decorator, model home stager, and design representative
  • Be prepared to select fabrics, wallcovering, and other home finishes.
  • Specify and layout furniture in a residential environment.

Career opportunities for graduates include:

  • Interior decorator
  • Retailer

  • Sales representative

  • The program is designed for those who simply want to decorate using applied finishes and furniture in a residential environment.
  • Business courses help students develop skills that would be useful in a small business practice.
  • The program is not recognized by the Council for Interior Design Accreditation.
