Jill DeMarotta
Assistant Professor of Interior Design

Before teaching Jill worked professionally as an interior designer for over a decade, working for architecture and engineering firms ranging from 30 to 650 persons.  Jill is a NCIDQ certificate holder (National Council for Interior Design Qualification), Georgia and Florida licensed interior designer, LEED AP BD+C accredited (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional in Building Design + Construction), EDAC certified (Evidence-based Design Accreditation and Certification), and CHID accredited (Certified Healthcare Interior Designer).   She has had the opportunity to design diverse spaces including: surgical intensive care units, obstetrical units, emergency departments, foreign hospital lobbies, hospice centers, college classroom buildings, cafeterias, medical office buildings, corporate headquarters, commercial offices, banks, and single and multi-family homes.  Jill had the great opportunity to work as an integral team member on those projects in conjunction with owners, architects, mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, plumbing engineers, civil engineers, and contractors. She has also acted as the LEED Administrator on 7 LEED Silver or Gold certified buildings.

Jill received her Bachelor of Science degree in interior architecture from the University of North Carolina Greensboro and her Master of Interior Design degree from the University of Florida.  Her research focuses on sustainable interior design education.
