Do I have to know how to sew to major in Fashion design?

Apparel Construction is one of the core classes required for Fashion Design majors. Previous experience with sewing is helpful, but not at all necessary.

Do I have to know how to draw?

Students entering the Fashion Design program come to Brenau with all levels and types of artistic skills. As with any skill, the more you draw, the better you will become. Fashion Design majors have plenty of opportunities to learn and strengthen their drawing and illustrating skills in both fashion design classes and in Two Dimensional Design, Drawing, Illustration Techniques and Life Drawing.

What types of jobs are there for fashion design graduates?

A variety of opportunities exist: fashion designer, costume designer, wardrobe stylist, fashion coordinator, fashion forecaster, product developer and manufacturing liaison to name a few.
