I am originally from Michigan. I attended Oakland University there where I earned my bachelor’s in Elementary Education. After moving to Georgia, I earned my master’s in Post-Secondary Education from Troy University and my Ed.S. and Ed.D. in Teaching and Learning from Piedmont College. My dissertation was a mixed methods research study on new elementary teacher support and self-efficacy, and this topic still remains an interest of mine.

Prior to joining Brenau, I taught elementary school for 20 years. During that time, I was a K-2 classroom teacher, K-5 ESOL teacher and a K-5 EIP teacher working with students who needed support in reading and math. In the College of Education at Brenau, I enjoy teaching foundation, literacy and social studies courses. I have been a member and elected executive committee member of the Georgia Association of Teacher Educators. I have attended and presented at GATE’s annual conferences to continue my professional learning as a teacher educator and to share knowledge with other educators. As for personal interests, I enjoy traveling. I am also an avid reader, animal lover and nature lover.
