I am Dr. Isreal Collins Jr., a native of Charleston, South Carolina. Consistently throughout my educational career, my parents have provided an enormous amount of support both financially and morally, always stressing the importance and value of obtaining a good education. After high school graduation, I proceeded on to Benedict College in Columbia, South Carolina, where I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education. I began my teaching career in the DeKalb County School System, where I married a DeKalb County teacher and relocated to Florida. I taught in the Dade County School System as a third grade teacher. One year later, I transferred to the Broward County School System where I taught eight years as a physical education teacher and one year as a homebound teacher.

My family relocated back to Georgia where I taught nine years as a physical education teacher in the Atlanta Public School System. I then returned to the DeKalb County School System as a physical education teacher and administrative assistant. A few years later, I was promoted as assistant principal at Loganville Middle School in Walton County, Georgia. I earned my master’s and educational specialist degrees in Education Administration at Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, Alabama. I completed my doctorate degree in Education Administration at Georgia Southern University. In 2011, I retired from Walton County School System after 30 years in education. Shortly after retirement, I served as Title II A Coordinator with Walton County School System. I currently serve as assistant professor and clinical supervisor at Brenau University.
