A Message from the Dean of Education

Eugene Williams, who arrived at Brenau in 2008, is the new dean of the university’s College of Education.

Dr. Eugene Williams

Welcome to the College of Education at Brenau University. I am honored to continue serving the Brenau family and my community as the dean.

Since I have been at Brenau, I have witnessed many changes which were innovative and challenging. Together, the faculty and staff are committed to meeting all challenges, and working to improve the quality of candidates that we send into the workforce. We strive to stay on the forefront of research-based best practices and professionally suggested innovations to ensure that we continue the teaching and learning for our candidates, our schools and our community.

Our framework is based on the vision that Brenau’s  “education professionals will take active roles in planning, implementing and evaluating effective teaching practices through reflective decisions relating to content pedagogy, and the learner”. It is the belief of our faculty that candidates must have a strong grounding in the content knowledge necessary to guide learners and must also possess the skills necessary to respond to the needs of those learners.

Brenau has a long history of preparing quality teachers to enter the classrooms in Georgia and throughout our nation. As the dean, I assure you that we will continue to strive to have our educator preparation program produce quality, caring, career-ready teachers to enter the classrooms of our schools. Please explore our websites and feel free to contact us to further discuss our undergraduate and graduate programs. Come join us as we move forward.
