Dear Brenau Family,

In these uncertain and down-right scary times it is easy to believe that you are alone. During the upcoming weeks, we will do everything to keep you informed of new developments and University updates. Please know there are a team of people coming together daily to ensure this campus community is safe.

We know that some of you have concerns regarding family members and surrounding communities. Many of you have enacted social-distancing and have sheltered in home. We as staff members are not exempt from the same worries or fears. We often say Brenau is a family. These words are coming to life right before our eyes and we are here for you.

Over the coming weeks, we will share information and resources to help all of us navigate these interesting times by posting accurate information, providing resources to keep you and your family healthy, and answering your questions through the Brenau COVID-19 FAQ web-page.

We want to thank you for moving on a moment’s notice, transitioning to an online format and having to forfeit many of the Brenau traditions that make us a family due to COVID-19. Those lost moments cannot not be replaced but we want you to know that we cherish your presence on campus and look forward to creating new memories next semester. Your response during this crisis will forever give us a sense of pride and confirm the belief that we have the best students in the world.

If any of you are experiencing mental health concerns related to life or this current crisis, please reach out to our University Counselor, Ms. Gay Baldwin, at gbaldwin@brenau.edu

I would like to encourage you with this quote by Thich Nhat Hanh, “Hope is important because it can make the present moment less difficult to bear. If we believe that tomorrow will be better, we can bear a hardship today.”

Be encouraged & Stay safe,
