Students in the Human Resource Management MBA Program receive specialized training, real-world experience, and personal attention, while developing solid business fundamentals that will put them out in front as a Human Resource Professional. Brenau’s concentration in Human Resource Management (HRM) provides advanced coursework that connects academic theory to practice, linking HRM decisions to business goals. The HRM MBA curriculum is consistently updated to ensure real-world relevancy to today’s global marketplace. This program provides specialized human resource management training in the areas of employment law, talent acquisition, total rewards and strategy. Typical HR managers come from both human resource and business backgrounds and will be able to integrate HR strategies into their companies’ overall plans.

Brenau also offers the option to students who already hold a graduate degree to earn the Human Resource Management Certificate by completing the 5 required courses in the Human Resource Management Concentration curriculum.
To enhance their success in the program, students are required to take BA 500 MBA Foundations (3 hours) and BA507 Introduction to Business Communications (3 hours). These courses must be completed before starting the other MBA coursework.

Dr. Pouncey is the Lead Professor of Human Resource Management for the Undergraduate and Graduate Programs and is also the Lead Professor for the Augusta Campus. She is additionally a Brenau Associate Professor of Business Administration as well as the President of Delta Mu Delta – the Honor Society for the College of Business & Mass Communication. She holds a PhD in Business from Capella University, a MS from Capella University and a BBA from Augusta State University. Previously she was an Executive Manager of Human Resources & Staffing and has published articles regarding temporary employees, personality traits, the psychological contract, diversity, and business modeling in Education. She stays abreast of her field through her works as an HR Consultant and through her attendance at SHRM sponsored Diversity Conferences and Webinars.
