‘Panorama’ virtual dance concert features Brenau students, faculty and guest artists

The Brenau University Department of Dance presented a virtual senior thesis, faculty and guest artist concert April 8-10. The event, Panorama, featured nightly performances streamed live from Brenau’s Pearce Auditorium on YouTube and Facebook. 

The concert showcased performances choreographed by Brenau seniors Shania McAmis, Gracie Metcalf, Lauren Rathmann and Dejah Williams, as well as new works by faculty and guest artists. 

Christen Weimer, affiliate faculty of dance at Brenau, premiered Inexplicable Nostalgia, dance on film with original music by Paul Stevens, spoken word by Xavier Lewis and cinematography by Joey Kopanski. Atlanta artist Xavier Lewis also debuted his dynamic and virtuosic Edge.

Panorama also included works by Amy Jacques, affiliate faculty of dance, and Madia Cooper-Ashirifi, chair and professor of Brenau’s Dance Department, as well as poetry-inspired pieces from student choreographers.
