Brenau students have many sources to help with tuition costs, including academic, fine arts, competitive and athletic scholarships, as well as grants and scholarships.

Academic scholarships

All of our academic scholarships, which range from $6,400-$16,000 depending on your GPA, are awarded by the Admissions Office.. We offer several tiers of academic scholarships to incoming first-year, transfer and international students in our full-time day programs. Online students are not eligible for academic scholarships.

Fine Arts scholarships

Scholarships are available in the areas of theatre, dance, interior design, music and fashion design.  Typically, these scholarships require an audition or portfolio submission.

Brenau Scholars Program

This competitive scholarship program provides scholarships that cover, in conjunction with applicable state grants, full tuition for outstanding Women’s College applicants who have demonstrated strength in leadership and academics.

Baxter-Bryan Scholarship

The Baxter-Bryan Scholarship is Brenau’s highest academic recognition for a Women’s College student. In combination with the recipients state and other institutional scholarships and grants, the Baxter-Bryan Scholarship covers full tuition, room and board for the recipient’s senior year. The scholarship was established by Joe W. Baxter, who named the scholarship for his sister, Carfax Baxter, and friend, Morris Bryan Jr.

Athletic scholarships

Female student-athletes in the Women’s College can be considered for athletic scholarships. Award decisions and  amounts are determined by the Brenau Athletics Department in conjunction with the Financial Aid Office.

Contact Athletics Director Michael Lochstampfor at mlochstampfor@brenau.edu or 770-534-6231 to receive information about Brenau’s athletic scholarship offerings.

Presidential Scholarship

Male students who meet specific GPA requirements and enroll in the  Gainesville Day program are eligible to compete for the Presidential Scholarship. This scholarship covers the annual cost of tuition when combined with applicable state financial aid programs, including the HOPE and Zell Miller Scholarships.

Private scholarships

Many private scholarships are offered each year by corporate, professional, trade, government, civic, religious, social and fraternal organizations ranging from small honorariums to thousands of dollars. Brenau University does not guarantee the availability or fairness of these scholarship offers or sponsors. Students pursue these options at their own risk. It is the student’s responsibility to obtain the necessary materials, complete applications and submit them directly to the sponsoring organization for review and fund distribution.

The Financial Aid Office recommends that you avoid websites that require you to pay a fee, attend a seminar or claim a guarantee, or that allow educational institutions to advertise on the site.
