Office of Marketing & Communications
OMC exists as a resource for every office, department and school at Brenau. As we enter another academic year, here are a few reminders about working with OMC:
Web and social media
Assistance with external websites and website form building is one of the most common requests in our office. Most requests require three weeks notice. Michael McPeek handles all of these projects and will do his best to help you develop the right project or format for your needs as quickly as possible. McPeek also handles social media policy. Reach out to him if you have a social media question or request!
Graphic design
OMC offers departmental design services for posters, flyers, postcards, brochures, invitations, T-shirts, business cards/stationery, event programs, banners and more. While some of these projects can be printed in-house at little or no cost, we can help with pricing on any outsourced items. Most requests require three weeks notice. We also ask that any items not designed by OMC, such as T-shirts, be shared with Michael Lowe, design director, prior to printing to ensure they meet Brenau’s branding standards (colors, fonts, etc.) for external audiences.
Content and media relations
As you work on projects with McPeek and Lowe, Kathryne Davis and AJ Reynolds can help you tell your story with photos and/or video. Additionally, we ask that anyone on campus who is contacted by the media for an interview let AJ Reynolds and McDade know prior to giving the interview. We are happy to share the great work we do with the media. We just want to ensure you are prepared as you represent the university.
Logos and Style Guide
Please consult the Brenau University Style Guides found in the Press Kit for information regarding the use of institutional logos. There are guidelines there which govern official publications intended for distribution off-campus.
These policies are intended to ensure that publications provide an accurate, consistent message. Their appearance is to complement other campus publications and maintain the high standards that Brenau University expects to project to the public. The public relations office works with graphic design services as well as printing services to make sure this policy is upheld. Contact the Office of Marketing & Communications at 770-534-6167.
