Michael Lochstampfor

Michael​ ​Lochstampfor​​ ​has​ ​been​ ​athletic​ ​director​ ​at​ ​Brenau​ ​University​ ​since​ ​2009. He​ ​first​ ​arrived​ ​at​ ​the​ ​university​ ​in​ ​2002​ ​as​ ​fitness​ ​center​ ​director​ ​and​ ​head​ ​coach​ ​of​ ​the Golden​ ​Tigers​ ​soccer​ ​team.​ ​During​ ​his​ ​tenure​ ​as​ ​athletic​ ​director,​ ​Brenau​ ​athletics​ ​have grown​ ​from​ ​seven​ ​varsity​ ​sports​ ​to​ ​16​ ​total​ ​sports,​ ​including​ ​junior​ ​varsity​ ​basketball and​ ​softball​ ​programs​ ​and​ ​new​ ​lacrosse​ ​and​ ​competitive​ ​shooting​ ​teams.​ ​The​ ​number​ ​of student-athletes​ ​on​ ​campus​ ​more​ ​than​ ​doubled​ ​since​ ​2009,​ ​from​ ​80​ ​to​ ​nearly​ ​200,​ ​and Brenau​ ​teams​ ​have​ ​taken​ ​home​ ​11​ ​conference​ ​championships​ ​in​ ​that​ ​time,​ ​including​ ​five in​ ​track​ ​and​ ​field,​ ​three​ ​in​ ​swimming,​ ​two​ ​in​ ​softball​ ​and​ ​one​ ​in​ ​cross​ ​country.​ ​Before coming​ ​to​ ​the​ ​university,​ ​he​ ​was​ ​the​ ​director​ ​of​ ​the​ ​men​ ​and​ ​women’s​ ​soccer​ ​programs at​ ​Oglethorpe​ ​University,​ ​head​ ​soccer​ ​coach​ ​and​ ​physical​ ​education​ ​instructor​ ​at Reinhardt​ ​College,​ ​and​ ​men’s​ ​soccer​ ​assistant​ ​coach​ ​at​ ​Midwestern,​ ​where​ ​he​ ​received​ ​a master’s​ ​degree​ ​in​ ​exercise​ ​science.​ ​He​ ​holds​ ​a​ ​bachelor’s​ ​degree​ ​in​ ​physical​ ​education and​ ​French​ ​from​ ​Covenant​ ​College.
