Tigers for Trees

Tigers for Trees is a part of Brenau’s Students In Free Enterprise (SIFE), targeting Sustainability on campus. Their mission: “To bring together the top leaders of today and tomorrow to create a better, more sustainable world through the positive power of business.”

This year, Tigers for Trees is working on a university-wide recycling project to present at the 2011 SIFE USA Regional Competition, April 3-4 in Atlanta, Georgia.

The team has created a number of recycling bins using recycled soda cans from around the community and placed them in high-traffic areas like Brenau’s Trustee Library. Iben Nelson, a Brenau graduate student, originated the idea, and the team took it from there to the Brenau Incubator, a committee that makes it possible for students to run small businesses or projects.

The recycling project’s goal is to enhance the community’s sustainability efforts and allow entrepreneurship for students while creating a social environment within the community.
