"Occupational therapy gives people the 'skills for the job of living' that are needed for independent and satisfying lives."
-American Occupational Therapy Association, Inc. (AOTA)

. Are you a person who likes to help others?  Do you enjoy the medical sciences, but also like social sciences and the arts?  Do you like to figure out creative solutions to life problems?  If you answer yes to one or more of these questions,  you'll like the field of occupational therapy.  Occupational therapists help people do the everyday activities that they want and need to do. This is more difficult than it sounds, because it requires attention to the individual as a physical, mental and spiritual being and the environment in which he or she functions.

I invite you to take a close look at our programs, faculty, and facilities.  We offer accredited academic instruction of the highest quality in the Women's College, leading to the combined bachelor's/master's degree in occupational therapy.  For those who are already occupational therapists, the Evening and Weekend College programs lead to a choice of post-professional graduate options for both men and women.

Our department brings together nationally recognized faculty members, experienced practitioners and strong students who all work together in a community of learning, research and practice. Our classes combine hands-on experience in the laboratory and at field sites. Courses are based on the latest research in occupational science and occupational therapy.  These are further enhanced by the medical and social sciences, as well as a strong  liberal arts foundation.  You'll find more about the educational requirements by consulting our program pages at this website.

Our graduates are employed in a variety of medical, educational and community settings, working with all ages, ranging from infants to older adults.  Many are offered positions prior to program completion, and several have started their own practices. Some work with special needs children  in schools, others help injured workers get back on the job, and still others help the elderly and  people with mental illness manage their daily living needs. Our graduates all share a rich academic background that gives them the tools to excel in their careers.

Explore our website and discover the wealth of information it offers.  You will see Brenau faculty, students and graduates in real settings providing occupational therapy services. Please give me a call or email  for answers to your questions and to arrange a personal visit to our campus. I invite you to join our community of learning.
