Occupational therapy is a healthcare profession that helps people do the occupations (tasks or activities) of everyday life, such as self-care, work, play, education, leisure, and spiritual pursuits.

Occupational therapists work with people of all ages who have had their ability to do these tasks interrupted by physical or mental disabilities, developmental problems, accidents or injuries, or environmental factors.

Occupational therapists help these individuals learn or relearn how to perform the everyday tasks they want and need to do.
