The public relations major is offered with a wide field of written communication options for various forms of media. The importance of effective communications is taught through strategic planning and techniques acquired from both class and hands on participation in public relations work.

Students receive hands-on experience from various outlets. The public relations practicum allows the student to observe and participate through the campus public relations office. Classes cover in-depth the skills needed to formulate and implement a public relations campaign. Written communication skills and their effectiveness for the field of public relations are stressed and refined through individual participation and group projects and activities.
