Creating Brenau 2025

Brenau University’s mission is straightforward:

preparing all of our students to live extraordinary lives. We choose this word, “extraordinary,” purposefully to reflect the conviction that Brenau graduates will have an education that is not just excellent but demonstrably life-changing for both themselves and others. We believe that this select group of creative, leading, and inspiring citizens of the 21st Century will require much more than a 19th or 20th Century educational formula resulting simply in a certificate or a diploma. Brenau will prepare these innovative leaders for the coming generations. As a necessary result of this commitment and as our 15-year strategic goal, Brenau University will become by 2025 a nationally recognized and regionally preferred doctoral institution unique in its educational process.

“Brenau 2025” is our action plan for designing an innovative and exciting education that will transform our students’ lives and, hence, their world. We envision a very different learning experience than currently offered at other educational institutions. Our second strategic goal is to offer a stimulating, seamless and, for very talented students, abbreviated transition from the Academy or Brenau Undergraduate College to graduate school in order to reduce barriers and to ease or accelerate progress through graduate study. For example, a Brenau undergraduate, if she/he continues without hiatus into graduate study, could expect to reduce the time to achieve a graduate degree from Brenau by one or more years. First and foremost, however, from this time forward, we expect that every Brenau undergraduate student has postgraduate education as the next step in her/his lifelong educational journey.
