Brenau Partners with IPD for Full Range of Student Recruitment and Retention Service

Brenau University and IPDBrenau University and the Institute for Professional Development (IPD) have announced a collaboration to provide accelerated degree programs for busy working adults. These cohort-based programs offer adult students the flexibility they need to complete associate degrees in liberal studies and bachelor’s and master’s degrees in business administration, organizational leadership, education, nursing and psychology.

IPD, based in Phoenix, Ariz., will help Brenau expand its adult degree programs through a full-service marketing and branding approach that will include market research, technical support, recruitment and retention services; faculty support, curriculum development, instructional design consultation, and student services.

The IPD-supported programs will be available at all Brenau locations, and online. In addition to its historic main campus in Gainesville, Ga., Brenau operates learning centers in cities across Georgia – Norcross, Fairburn, Augusta and Kings Bay. However, the agreement will provide for possible expansion to future sites in Georgia and Florida that are in the early stages of consideration.

“A significant component of Brenau University’s growth in the next two decades will occur in the realm of the adult learner,” said Dr. Ed Schrader, the Brenau University president. “This partnership not only will help us attract and retain those students, but also will help us develop the kinds of academic structure and student support services specifically designed for adult student needs.”

Jane Baker Pierce, IPD senior regional vice president, played a key role in developing the partnership and overseeing the start-up operations, which began with the signing of the partnership agreement on March 1.

“IPD is honored to have the opportunity to assist Brenau University in changing the lives of adult students and their families,” Pierce said.

The arrangement also has the endorsement of Brenau’s trustees and support from top academic and administrative officials. Those overseeing the academic and educational quality enhancement, recruitment, regulatory compliance and student services components of the project are Dr. Nancy Krippel, provost and vice president for academic affairs; Dr. David Barnett, senior vice president for administration and chief financial officer and Scott Briell, senior vice president for enrollment management and student services.

To fully staff the Brenau program, IPD  is transferring personnel to the region and enlisting qualified individuals to fill many positions throughout Georgia that will include a contract director, enrollment managers, enrollment representatives, enrollment specialists, corporate education liaisons, a regional accounting analyst, and administrative support personnel.
