The event kicks off the S.A.B.’s Campus Unity Week which Director Mycharia Spurling said welcomes students back to campus after winter break.
To kick off Campus Unity Week the Student Activities Board hosted a custom snow globe event Monday in the Yonah Dinning Hall. S.A.B. Director Mycharia Spurling said the week of events is meant to welcome back students returning from winter break.
Spurling said events like this are important to the student community and that the S.A.B. is responsible for providing fun activities and events to the student body.
“We just want to give them a little pick me up throughout the week,” she said. “We care about your needs, want to make sure you succeed and have an enjoyable time on campus.”
While passing through the Yonah Dinning Hall, students could have their photograph taken and then placed into a souvenir snow globe to take home. Spurling and other S.A.B. members were there calling out to students making sure the booth did not go unnoticed and students knew the event was free.
“S.A.B. means free, remember that,” Spurling said when a student asked how much one of the snow globes cost. The S.A.B. makes an effort for all of their events to be free for students.
Amy Wells, an education sophomore at Breanu, said the S.A.B. does a great job as she left Yonah with her snow globe.”They get everyone excited about upcoming events and provide lots of fun activities.”
Throughout Campus Unity Week the S.A.B. will be holding events including cupcake and cookie decorating on Friday, Jan 11 as well as a pajama-sleepover movie-night on Saturday, Jan 12.
