A dance-off and a “Brain Freeze” competition highlighted the 2013-2014 Brenau University pep rally on Thursday night.

The event featured a packed gymnasium, free pizza and the introduction of the Golden Tiger athletic teams as student gathered together to celebrate the upcoming athletic seasons.

After each athletic team was introduced, one member of each team dared to face off in a “Brain Freeze” competition to see which athlete could drink a smoothie the fastest. Senior Ellen Lemos braved the potential headache and emerged victorious for the volleyball team, finishing significantly ahead of the other competitors.

In the dance-off, sorority members and athletic team members gathered to show off their best moves. With an esteemed panel of judges from the Brenau University Student Services department, each group provided energy and enthusiasm for the crowd.

With several athletic teams competing this weekend, it was a nice start to the new year and a spirited beginning for the Brenau University community.
