The Honors Program at the Women's College of Brenau University begins in the freshman year and is followed throughout the student's entire college career at Brenau.
Special classes reserved for honors students are taught in an enriched manner, affording these students an approach to their general education courses which enables them to study these subjects at an advanced level. Students enrolled in the Honors Program at Brenau enjoy the favorable position of participating in smaller, more challenging classes reserved exclusively for talented students.
Students who successfully complete the program requirements are recognized for their accomplishment and awarded a special certificate at graduation. The honors designation is an important element on a resume or application for graduate school.
Brenau honors students and alumni have been:
- elected to numerous campus leadership positions, awards, and honorary societies selected for summer study in England at Oxford and elsewhere
- selected for fall semester study abroad programs in Italy and the National Collegiate Honors Council program in Greece
- selected for medical schools and law schools including Mercer, Duke, UGA and Yale
- selected for graduate schools in communications, history, political science, theatre and other fields.
