CASSANDRA ALVARADO is a Visiting Assistant Professor of Dance at Brenau University. She has been on faculty since January 2012 when she and her husband re-located to Georgia.
Cassandra Alvarado is from St. Louis, Missouri and has been dancing since the age of two. Over the years, Ms. Alvarado has studied dance extensively in the areas of tap, jazz, ballet, hip hop, lyrical, modern, contemporary, and musical theatre. She trained with Dance Productions Unlimited for most of her life and has also studied with the St. Louis Ballet Academy. In order to further her training, she attended summer workshops and intensives such as St. Louis Tap Festival, Company Dance, and Break the Floor. Ms. Alvarado spent a few years performing for Factor 110, which collaborated with Cirque du Soleil. She has also been choreographed, taught, and judged for Dance Masters of America, Southeast Missouri State University’s Dance Team, Dance Productions Unlimited, and The Dancers Studio.
Ms. Alvarado graduated Cum Laude from Southeast Missouri State University with a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Dance and an Administrative Assistant Degree in Business. She also holds a Masters of Fine Arts in Dance from Oklahoma City University.
