Brenau University offers financial aid in the form of federal and state student loans for graduate students. Any student who wishes to apply must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the Brenau University Application for Financial Aid. Any new student must complete all Brenau University graduate admissions requirements and be fully accepted for admission before financial aid can be processed. A student who is allowed conditional enrollment is not eligible for financial aid for that term.

Financial aid applications are generally processed on a rolling basis. However, students who want to apply for the service-cancelable State Direct Student Loan must apply very early since funds are extremely limited and are awarded only once per academic year. Semester deadlines will be enforced when processing applications for all other federal student loan programs. The deadline will be approximately one month prior to the beginning date of that semester and will be published in the Schedule of Courses and in the Brenau University Application for Financial Aid.

First, your application is sent to the U.S. Department of Education's designated processor. The processor uses the application for a need analysis. This analysis determines your Expected Family Contribution and eligibility for a Federal Pell Grant.

Second, these results are sent to you and up to six colleges of your choice. A college uses the results to assemble a financial aid package for you, and then it sends you an Award Letter with the details. You can accept or reject all or some of the financial aid package.
