“A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops.”

We appreciate the interest you are showing in the Brenau University College of Education and its programs by visiting our web page. The college has a long and rich tradition of preparing candidates to enter the public schools and other agencies of Georgia as well as the region.
The mission of the College of Education is the preparation of teachers. Central to all of our programs is our conceptual framework. This framework is knowledge-based, reflects current research, and its overall philosophy and purpose provide a rationale for our coursework, field and clinical experiences.
Our framework is based on the vision that “education professionals from Brenau University will take active roles in planning, implementing and evaluating effective teaching practices through reflective decisions relating to content, pedagogy, and the learner”. It is the belief of faculty that candidates must have a strong grounding in the content knowledge necessary to guide learners and must also possess the skills needed to respond to the needs of the learners; this grounding is supported by the liberal arts mission of the institution.
Please spend some time looking at our programs. The dean, faculty and staff are available to answer any questions you might have as you begin studying to become a teacher. If you are already teaching, consider a master’s or education specialist degree to enhance your skill as a professional.
