Auditioning for Theatre
Scholarships ranging from $1500 to full tuition are available in the theatre program. Students auditioning for scholarships should be in the process of applying to Brenau and must be declared theatre majors. Scholarship candidates should prepare and present two 30 second monologues from dramatic literature that demonstrate a contrast (serious vs. comic/contemporary vs. period).
Candidates for the BFA in Theatre with a Musical Theatre Emphasis must perform a song, about one minute in length, from a musical, with accompaniment on CD. BA candidates are encouraged to perform a song, although this is optional.
BFA candidates for the Design and Technology degree should bring in a resumé and portfolio that demonstrates some preparation in technical and design areas.
All candidates are encouraged to bring resumés and headshots but they are not required. Auditions are for scholarship consideration only and are not mandatory for admission to the theatre program.
Contact the Chair of Theatre at 770-534-6264 or e-mail at ademling@brenau.edu for scholarship appointments.
Please bring the Audition Form with you when you come to your scholarship appointment.
