Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication
The department adheres to a media convergence philosophy which is reflected in the broad basis of the major’s core classes and the additional specialization of a required concentration. This approach prepares students with the ability to interact with all forms of interconnected media and still become proficient in a particular media form. The Mass Communication program consists of core classes taken by all students and a choice of one of five concentrations within the department. Students also participate in student media related experience each semester, building toward a required internship before graduation. Student media consists of: WBCX-89.1 FM, the Alchemist student newspaper, and Cable 95.
