What are the library's hours?

What are the directions for getting to the library?
(top) The Brenau Trustee Library is located in Gainesville on central campus. Please see the Brenau University Maps and Directions page. |

Can I bring food or beverages in the library?
(top) A break room is located at the entrance of the library with vending machines. Patrons should bring food to this area and should not bring into the library. Drinks in approved, spill-proof lids are permitted. |

Are sections of the library for Brenau students only?
(top) The computers in the reference bank are for Brenau students. The library does not have computers with guest access. |

What borrowing privileges are available to persons not affiliated with
Brenau?
(top) Residents of Hall County may request a library card and may borrow materials from the Brenau Trustee Library. There is a $50.00 fee for community library cards. |

How do I find out if the library owns a periodical? (top) All of the current periodical subscriptions available in the Brenau Trustee Library are cataloged in the GoldCat catalog. A searchable database of full-text electronic periodicals available through GALILEO can be found under the Research Guide and Internet Tools section of the library web page. |

What type of copying services are available?
(top) A photocopier is available for patron use. Copies are .10 each. |

Can I use other libraries?
(top) Brenau has reciprocal agreements with libraries near all of our extension sites. Brenau faculty and students who are teaching or enrolled in classes at these sites may use these libraries and check out materials. Check the Brenau Trustee Library Handbook for libraries that are near your site. |

What if I need to use materials from other libraries?
(top) You may request the material you desire through interlibrary loan. Check out the library services page for information on ILL. In addition, Brenau is a member of the Atlanta Regional Consortium for Higher Education (ARCHE). Brenau faculty and students must request an ARCHE card from Brenau in order to use ARCHE member libraries. Patrons who request an ARCHE card should have checked the Brenau catalog and GALILEO resources to make sure that we do not have the materials that are needed before requesting an ARCHE card for another institution. Check the ARCHE link for policies regarding this program. |

Can I suggest that the library buy a particular book?
(top) We encourage requests from our patrons. Please see our Book Suggestion service and fill out a suggestion form. |

How many items may I borrow?
(top) Brenau patrons may check out up to 15 books; community patrons are limited to four books. Reference books do not circulate. |

How do I renew books?
(top) Telephone renewal is permissible for commuting students and off-campus patrons. Off-campus students may check out books by contacting the library (770) 534-6113. All students may also renew their books by logging into their patron account using their last name and their library card barcode. Click on "Patron Info" and scroll down to the list of charged items to renew materials. Materials may only be renewed once. |

How and where can I access materials that are on reserve?
(top) Professors may place items on reserve at the circulation desk at the Trustee Library or leave them at a designated site at the off-campus sites. Some professors may enter reserve items electronically in Blackboard folders. For more information call (770) 534-6113. |

Does the library provide study carrels or lockers?
(top) Study carrels, located to the right of the building, are available for private and small group study; some are equipped for viewing videocassettes or listening to sound recordings. |
