The Brenau University soccer team recorded many individual and team accomplishments during the 2008 soccer season. There were many firsts along the way including an unbelievable run in the month of October where the Golden Tigers went on the road and posted 3 consecutive wins and shutouts of conference foes Columbia College, Auburn University – Montgomery and the #10 nationally ranked Berry College Lady Vikings respectively.
Following is a compilation of other honors, awards and firsts for the 2008 Golden Tiger Soccer team:

• Most wins in a single season- 11
• Best ever finish in SSAC regular season- 3 rd place finish following a pre-season #7 pick
• First time national recognition by receiving votes to be in the top 25 teams in the NAIA
• 6 regular season conference wins
• Single season shut-out record for GK Lisa Lesnick (8)
• Tied and shutout nationally ranked #10 Berry College
• Longest winning streak – 7 games
• First time conference win over SSAC rival Auburn University-Montgomery
• 3 First Team All-Conference Winners: Kelly Young, Lily Futrell, and Lisa Lesnick
• 1 Second Team All-Conference Winner: Marilyn Anderson
• Goalkeeper Lisa Lesnick named SSAC Defensive Player of the Week for the weeks of Oct. 7-14, and Oct.14-21
• Lily Futrell named SSAC Offensive Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 7-14
• Leanne Rowley named to the SSAC Champions of Character Team
• 5 Players named to SSAC All-Academic Team: Lily Futrell, Jennifer Rainey, Leanne Rowley, and Mandy Ulseth
• 3 named to NAIA/Daktronics All-Academic Team: Mandy Ulseth, Jennifer Rainey, Leanne Rowley
