Doctorate of Nursing Practice

Applicants must possess the following academic and professional qualifications:

  • • MSN
  • • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • • Current Advanced Practice Nursing certificate or license
  • • Current RN License

In order to apply students must submit the following to the Brenau University Office of Admissions:

  • Our electronic application, which you can find on our website at www.brenau.edu/apply;
  • Three professional references.
  • Resume and Essay.
  • Current Advanced Practice certificate or license. Fax certificate to the Brenau Admissions Office at (770) 718-5338;
  • Current RN nursing license. Fax RN License to the Brenau Admissions Office at (770) 718-5338;
  • Applicants should request a copy of their Official Transcripts from all previous institutions. Have the transcript(s) sent directly to the Brenau Office of Admissions at 500 Washington Street, SE, Gainesville, GA 30501.

Master of Science in Nursing

Program begins in Fall Only. Applications due by June 1st. Three concentrations available: Family Nurse Practitioner, Nurse Educator and Nurse Manager

Applicants must possess the following academic and professional qualifications:

  • • BSN
  • • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • • Current RN License
  • • Minimum of one year of full time work experience in nursing within the past five years

In order to apply students must submit the following to the Brenau University Office of Admissions:

  • Our electronic application, which you can find on our website at www.brenau.edu/apply;
  • Three professional references.
  • Resume.
  • Official GRE Score – Required for Family Nurse Practitioner applicants only. Ask that Official GRE score be sent directly to Brenau University;
  • Current RN nursing license. Fax RN License to the Brenau Admissions Office at (770) 718-5338;
  • Applicants should request a copy of their Official Transcripts from all previous institutions. Have the transcript(s) sent directly to the Brenau Office of Admissions at 500 Washington Street, SE, Gainesville, GA 30501.

Doctor of Physical Therapy

Program begins summer semester. Applications due by March 1st.

Applicants must possess the following qualifications:

  • • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 in college coursework, and
  • • Minimum of a 3.0 GPA in all prerequisite courses (Successful completion of all prerequisite courses by the end of the semester before starting the program)
  • • Minimum score of 400 on the verbal portion of the GRE, 500 on the quantitative portion and 3.5 on the analytical writing portion for GRE test taken prior to August 1st, 2011. Minimum score of 146 on the verbal portion of the GRE, 144 on the quantitative portion and 3.5 on the analytical writing portion for GRE test taken on or after to August 1st, 2011.

In order to apply students must submit the following to the Brenau University Office of Admissions:

  • Graduate application for admission (link to “Apply Now” page: http://www.brenau.edu/apply/)
  • Official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended
  • Official GRE scores
  • Proof of at least 40 hours of volunteer experience or observations divided at least between two different types of settings (link to form here)
  • Three letters of recommendations:
    • a. One from someone practicing in the field of physical therapy
    • b. One from someone who can speak to your academic ability.
    • c. One from someone who can speak to your character
  • Letter of intent (double-spaced, maximum of two pages) that reflects your understanding of the physical therapy profession, your experiences with physical therapy, and your goals for entering the physical therapy profession

Transcripts and GRE scores must be official and sent directly from the academic institution(s) and testing agency. Escripts will be accepted by Brenau University. Letters of reference, letter of intent, and observation hours may be submitted via mail, via fax (770-538-4701), or via email (admissions@brenau.edu).
