An Evening with Ronda Rich, WC ’83

Ronda Rich, best-selling author, Southern humorist and Women’s College alumna will speak on Tuesday, May 14 at 6:30 p.m. in Pearce Auditorium on Brenau’s Gainesville campus. Admission is free. Rich, whose storytelling column appears in 53 newspapers across the Southeast, will share her stories of humor and inspiration told as seen through the eyes of Southerners, which will be recorded for a DVD. Rich, the author of five non-fiction books including her trilogy What Southern Women Know series, is a Brenau journalism/broadcasting graduate. A movie based on her only novel, The Town That Came A-Courtin’, begins filming this summer.

The Brenau Alumni Association recognizes six outstanding Women’s College alumnae with the following awards: Young Alumnae Award (3), Community Service Award, Professional Achievement Award, and Service To Brenau Award. The Association also inducts a new class into the Alumni Hall of Fame. Nominations open each year on August 1 and close on October 31. Criteria and nomination forms can be found here.

Homecoming & Family Day

Co-hosted by Brenau Athletics, the Office of Alumni & Events, and Student Services, Homecoming is now in its 4th year. This year, the Athletic department will introduce the Alumnae Athletics Hall of Fame and induct its first class at a Saturday awards luncheon. In addition, alumnae athletes are invited back for alumnae vs. student competitions and reunions with their teammates.

Hosted by the Office of Alumni & Events, the 100 Days Out celebration is a one-stop-shop for members of the Class of 2014 to make preparations for becoming an alumnus. Have your yearbook photo taken, order diploma frames and graduation announcements, make a donation to the Senior class gift fund, browse class rings, and enjoy a delicious complimentary lunch.

Legacy Scholarship Deadline
February 1, 2014
The Office of Alumni & Events, in partnership with Brenau Financial Aid, now offers the Legacy Scholarship. This scholarship encourages daughters and sisters of Brenau alumni to continue the Golden Tigers’ tradition as freshmen in the Women’s College. The scholarship is available each semester starting with a Feb. 1st deadline for Fall applicants. For more information about how your daughter or sister can apply for the Legacy Scholarship, please contact Brenau’s Financial Aid Office at (770) 534-6152. Guidelines can be found here.

Alumnae Reunion Weekend & May Day
Friday – Sunday, April 11-13, 2014
Gainesville Campus
The annual Alumnae Reunion Weekend and May Day festivities will be held April 11-13. All alumnae from Brenau’s Women’s College, Academy, and Early College programs are invited. Milestone reunions will be held for the classes of 1964 (50th), 1989 (25th), and 2004 (10th). In addition, Delta Delta Delta sorority will celebrate 100 years of sisterhood at Brenau.
