Service To Brenau Award (1 recipient / year) — See Previous Recipients
This award was established in 1973 to recognize a Women’s College alumna who exemplifies a personal commitment to Brenau University. Nominations open each year on August 1 and close on October 31. Winners are selected by a committee of their peers and are notified by December 1. Awards are given at Alumnae Reunion Weekend the following Spring.

Professional Achievement Award (1 recipient / year) – See Previous Recipients
Started in 1979, this award recognizes one Women’s College alumna who has distinguished herself in her chosen profession. Nominations open each year on August 1 and close on October 31. Winners are selected by a committee of their peers and are notified by December 1. Awards are given at Alumnae Reunion Weekend the following Spring.

Community Service Award (1 recipient / year) – See Previous Recipients
Recongnizing one Women’s College alumna who has, through work in her home community, made a lasting contribution through knowledge, culture, and service. This award was established in 1984. Nominations open each year on August 1 and close on October 31. Winners are selected by a committee of their peers and are notified by December 1. Awards are given at Alumnae Reunion Weekend the following Spring.

Young Alumnae Awards (3 recipients / year) – See Previous Recipients
This award was established in 1989 to recognize three traditional-aged Women’s College alumnae who have demonstrated outstanding achievements in one or more of the following ways: promotions, recognition, honor organizations, public appearances, expertise in field, professional leadership, and/or continued education. Nominees must be graduates of the last 15 years. Nominations open each year on August 1 and close on October 31. Winners are selected by senior Student Ambassadors and are notified by December 1. Awards are given at Alumnae Reunion Weekend the following Spring.

Alumni Hall of Fame Inductions (6 recipients / year) – See Previous Recipients
The Brenau University Hall of Fame honors alumni from all programs (Academy, Women’s College, undergraduate, and graduate) who have made an outstanding and lasting contribution to their country, state, community, and to Brenau. These alumni perpetuate the excellence of Brenau through their leadership, loyal support, service, and dedication. Nominations open each year on August 1 and close on October 31. Winners are selected by a committee of Brenau faculty and administrators and are notified by December 1. Awards are given to Women’s College and Academy recipients at Alumnae Reunion Weekend the following Spring, and to all other alumni at a Spring lunch with the University President.

LEGACY SCHOLARSHIP
The Office of Alumni & Events, in partnership with Brenau Financial Aid, is excited to announce the newly established Brenau University Legacy Scholarship! This scholarship encourages daughters and sisters of Brenau alumni to continue the Golden Tigers’ tradition as freshmen in the Women’s College.
- $2,500 scholarship to residential Women’s College legacies
- $2,000 scholarship to commuter Women’s College legacies
- Available to incoming, first-time, Freshman in the Women’s College only
- Mother, father, sister, or brother must be a Brenau alumnus (defined as anyone who completed at least 30 semester hours at Brenau in any program, including Academy/Early College, Women’s College, and non-traditional undergraduate and graduate programs)
- Renewable for up to four years or 120 semester hours, whichever is reached first
- Only available for students enrolled in the Women’s College full-time (12+ hours per semester)
- Student must maintain satisfactory academic progress toward a degree as defined for all financial aid recipients in Brenau’s institutional policies
This new scholarship will now be available each semester starting Fall 2013 with a Feb. 1st deadline for Fall applicants. For more information about how your daughter or sister can apply for the Legacy Scholarship, please contact Brenau’s Financial Aid Office at (770) 534-6152.

The Office of Alumni & Events offers several scholarship opportunities for Juniors and Seniors. Congratulations to the following Women’s College student, recipient of the 2013-2014 award:

Applications will be available each year online and in the Alumni Office (Walters House) beginning February 1. Applications are due March 15. Women’s College scholarships will be awarded at the Alumnae Reunion Weekend banquet in April.
