Rosalie J. Miller, Ph.D., OTR, FAOTA

Dr. Miller has a clinical background as an occupational therapist in productive aging, mental health and health promotion and wellness. Her extensive academic background includes faculty positions at University of Florida, New York University, Nova Southeastern University, Florida Gulf Coast University and Florida A&M University. All of these involved program and curriculum development and teaching at the masters’ level, and she actively participated in doctoral program development and teaching at NYU and NSU.

Her scholarship includes publications in OTJR, AJOT and OT Practice, and presentations at national and international conferences on topics ranging across research methods, professional and post-professional education, theory, productive aging and leadership. She was senior editor and chapter author of the first theory book specific to occupational therapy, and was chapter author in subsequent editions of same.

Dr. Miller has served the profession nationally as a member of the Commission on Education, the COE Entry-level Study Committee, and the AJOT and OTJR editorial advisory boards. She is a Fellow of the American Occupational Therapy Association, and has received grant support for several educational and practice projects. Her current research interests include promotion of healthy lifestyles in children and fall prevention with elders.
