School of Nursing
| The mission of the Department of Nursing is to prepare professional nurses to improve quality of life. The nursing educational experience inspires commitment to personal and professional integrity, social equity, collaborative practice, and community service. It is the belief of the faculty that nursing is a discipline of knowledge and a professional service based on caring, the central concept of nursing.
As we reflect on this mission and the challenges of nursing education, we realize the unique position of our nursing program in a liberal arts institution. Students are encouraged to explore not only natural and social sciences, but also develop an understanding of the arts, history, world community, and communication. Nursing students at Brenau have opportunities to work with a state-of-the-art human patient simulator, become involved with the community through health fairs, participate in international study, and work closely with other majors on projects that impact the sustainability of our environment. |
