What our students and graduates think:
Kristen Howard

I am a second year Occupational Therapy (OT) student at Brenau. I graduated from a state University in  2001 with a bachelor's degree in Biology. I chose to pursue a degree in Biology because of my interest in a health related field.

My mother is a nurse, so my interest in the health field began when I was very young; I just wasn't sure exactly what profession was the one for me.

Through volunteer work, I was introduced to the profession of OT.  I was drawn to the field of OT because I became excited about the idea of helping people of all ages learn, relearn, or adapt essential skills to participate in everyday activities.

I began researching schools which offered degrees in OT and chose Brenau because of its great location near my home and because of the combined B.S./M.S. degree offered. Past Brenau OT students had wonderful things to say about the program. Having just finished a year of the program, I agree. My experience so far has been nothing less than I expected. The faculty are very helpful, and I enjoy the small class size which has allowed students to become extremely close. I am very excited about my next two years in the program, and  highly recommend it to anyone interested in the field of Occupational Therapy.
Department Chair Barbara Schell drops in on a typical study session.
