Note Taking

  1. Create an outline
  2. If using a copier, make sure you copy the page with the following information: title, author, date, publisher and publisher place, all of these elements will come in handy when it is time to do your and citations.
  3. If using a photocopy or printed item from your printer, highlight the text that you may want to use in your research as you browse through it.
  4. If you are using electronic material, save the material to a disk in an organized fashion using the folder system. Microsoft word will let the user highlight using the highlighter pen.
  5. If you are handwriting notes, handwrite your thoughts on the actual copied duplicate as you are reading it.
  6. If you are using EBSCOhost, click on the citation and it will provide you with a persistent url. This way you can look at it at a later date
