GALILEO
A General Introduction to Georgia Library Learning Online or GALILEO. GALILEO includes more than 150 databases that index periodicals, scholarly journals, and 15,000 electronic books.
In order to use GALILEO the user must get familiar with how to access the
database and how to navigate through it.
Access

Go to the Brenau Trustee Library Website (http://www.brenau.edu/library).

Click on the GALILEO link located at the top and on the side of the main library
page. If you are accessing GALILEO from home, you will need to enter the current GALILEO password. The password is listed on Blackboard within
your courses.
Navigation

To see a list of the databases within GALILEO look at the top of the page and
find the tab "Databases A-Z". This will display all the databases locates within
GALILEO alphabetically.

If you are not sure what database to search, go the tabs at the top and look for
the subject that you want to perform a search on. Once the tab is selected,
GALILEO databases are displayed according to the subject desired. GALILEO also
indicates what databases it thinks are the best for your search and will provide
an arrow pointing to the databases of choice.

On the GALILEO homepage you will see two quick links, "Academic Search Premier"
and "Research Library GALILEO Edition (at ProQuest)" These two databases are the
more popular searching choices. Academic Search Premier contains a very broad
subject range and Research Library contains information important

Let's try one
Academic Search Premier

Click on the Academic Search Premier (at EBSCOhost) quick link
Go into the tabs at the top and select "Choose Databases"-
Select the database(s)
that is relevant to your search. In our case select "Academic Search Premier"
and "Religion and Philosophy Collection". Scroll to the bottom and click on the
"Continue" button

Perform a Search on "Flannery O'Connor"
If you only want to search full-text or peer-reviewed articles
remember to click on the box or boxes to limit your search.
